⚡ ORIGINAL 1984 MONSTERS OF ROCK TOUR POSTER ⚡
An absolute monster of an ’80s rock poster! Original 1984 Monsters of Rock tour artwork featuring a staggering line-up from the golden age of hard rock and heavy metal.
Dominated by AC/DC and Van Halen, the poster also features Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Gary Moore, Accept, Y&T and Dio — essentially a roll call of 1980s rock royalty. The artwork references the European Monsters of Rock dates including Donington, Karlsruhe, Nürnberg and Stockholm. Van Halen’s tour records confirm the run included Donington on 18 August, Stockholm on 25 August, Karlsruhe on 1 September and Nuremberg on 2 September 1984.
The legendary Castle Donington show on 18 August 1984 was headlined by AC/DC, with Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore, Y&T, Accept and Mötley Crüe completing an extraordinary bill. Contemporary Music Week coverage described it as one of the strongest Monsters of Rock line-ups assembled.
With its huge band logos, devilish imagery and gloriously over-the-top heavy-metal graphics, this is pure 1984 — a fantastic period piece from an era when rock festivals really did look this outrageous.
