The Stone Roses – Love Spreads (1994) Original Double Crown Promo Poster | Britpop Music Memorabilia
Original UK Quad Promotional Poster
A striking artefact from one of the most myth-laden chapters in British music history, this is an original UK Quad promotional poster issued in 1994 to mark the release of Love Spreads, the final single from The Stone Roses’ second album Second Coming.
Minimalist, stark, and unmistakably Roses, the design distils the band’s iconography down to its purest form: the cherubic winged figure, rendered in austere monochrome, floating against a vast white field. The typography is restrained and deliberate, with the release date — 21.11.94 — acting as both announcement and memorial. No band photo. No excess. Just confidence.
Unlike standard retail cinema advertising, this UK Quad was produced specifically as a promo piece, intended for limited distribution and short-term display. Surviving examples are increasingly scarce, particularly in such clean, unfussy condition.
Love Spreads marked the band’s return after years of silence — and, ultimately, their final bow. As such, this poster occupies a unique place in UK music culture: a closing chapter rendered with quiet authority.
