The Hour of the Furnaces 1970's – Original UK “The Other Cinema” Poster – Political Cinema / Third Cinema Rarity
A powerful and visually arresting poster for one of the most important political films ever made. Released in the UK by The Other Cinema during the late 1970s, this original poster captures the raw, revolutionary energy of Fernando Solanas & Octavio Getino’s landmark documentary The Hour of the Furnaces — a defining work of Third Cinema.
Designed in stark black-and-white illustration, the artwork features a bold collage of protest, struggle, and resistance, forming the silhouette of a man mid-shout with his fist raised. This is classic Other Cinema design: uncompromising, confrontational, and rich with political iconography. Posters from this collective were printed in very small numbers for campus screenings, independent venues and radical film societies — making surviving examples increasingly hard to find.
