In 1993, following a humanitarian crisis in Somalia, the United States deploys Task Force Ranger, comprised of elite U.S. Rangers and Delta Force operators, to Mogadishu to capture the warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid and his lieutenants.
The mission quickly spirals into a chaotic and deadly firefight when two Black Hawk helicopters are shot down by Somali militia, and the U.S. soldiers find themselves pinned down in a war zone, facing a large force of heavily armed Somalis.
The film follows the desperate efforts of the trapped soldiers to regroup, save their wounded, and avoid further casualties as they struggle to escape the city, facing intense gunfire and barricades.
