Teen genius Hiro Hamada would rather hustle underground robot fights than use his brain for good — until his big brother Tadashi introduces him to a marshmallow-shaped medical robot named Baymax, who looks like a walking marshmallow and gives unsolicited hugs.
When tragedy strikes and a mysterious Kabuki-masked villain shows up with Hiro’s stolen tech, Hiro does what any reasonable teenager would do: turns Baymax into a flying, karate-chopping healthcare companion, and assembles a squad of lovable nerds into a superhero team — complete with DIY science gadgets and zero actual combat experience.
What follows is a high-flying, heartwarming adventure involving microbots, emotional trauma, fist bumps that go “Balalala-la,” and a robot so pure he asks, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your pain?”
