The film centres on the real-life story of Samuel Byck, a down-on-his-luck salesman living in Philadelphia in 1973, who becomes increasingly disillusioned with society and obsessed with President Richard Nixon.
As Bycke's life spirals out of control, he blames Nixon for the ills of capitalism and decides to take extreme action, planning to crash an airliner into the White House.
