In 1929, nine-year-old Chiyo Sakamoto, living in a small fishing village, is sold by her father to an okiya in Kyoto to become a geisha, along with her sister Satsu, who is taken to a brothel. After years of training, Chiyo, now known as Sayuri, becomes a renowned geisha, known for her beauty and grace, attracting the attention of powerful men. Sayuri's life is disrupted by the outbreak of World War II and the American occupation, forcing her to leave Kyoto and face new challenges, including the loss of her mentor Mameha and the death of her father.
Measuring 30x40 inches, Rolled, Double Sided and listed in Very Fine condition with some edge wear and minor creases.
