ALIEN SEX FIEND – MAXIMUM SECURITY ORIGINAL PROMOTIONAL POSTER – 1985
A seriously striking original 1985 Alien Sex Fiend promotional poster, produced to advertise the band’s third studio album Maximum Security. Measuring approximately 29 x 23.5 inches, this is a fantastic piece of genuine mid-’80s Batcave / Goth / post-punk memorabilia.
The poster features the stark acid-green and black Maximum Security artwork, with a promotional strip along the bottom showing the band’s contemporary releases and the German distributor SPV (Schallplatten Produktion & Vertrieb). Crucially, the Maximum Security LP is identified with catalogue number SPV 08-1441, matching the 1985 German Rebel Records/SPV release.
Date: 1985. The album was released in October 1985, following the September 1985 single “I’m Doing Time In A Maximum Security Twilight Home.” Maximum Security entered the UK Albums Chart on 12 October 1985, reaching No.100.
This isn’t a modern reproduction — it has all the attitude of a period record-shop / distributor promotional piece, complete with visible age, handling and creasing that only adds to its authentic underground character.
