Original 1976 - King Kong - Japanese B2 Poster
In this thrilling remake of the 1933 classic, King Kong (1976) reimagines the iconic tale for a new era. When a mysterious, uncharted island is discovered in the Indian Ocean, the Petrox Oil Company mounts an expedition to claim its untapped resources. Among the crew is primate expert Jack Prescott (Jeff Bridges), stowaway environmentalist and voice of reason, and Dwan (Jessica Lange in her film debut), a struggling actress rescued at sea and brought along as a publicity asset.
Upon arrival, the crew encounters a primitive native tribe—and a terrifying legend: a giant ape known as Kong. When the natives abduct Dwan and offer her as a sacrifice, Kong emerges from the jungle and unexpectedly develops a deep, protective bond with her.
The crew captures Kong and transports him back to New York City, intending to exploit him as a media spectacle. But the mighty creature breaks free, leading to chaos and a tragic climax atop the World Trade Center towers.
Blending action, romance, and social commentary, King Kong (1976) explores themes of beauty and the beast, the exploitation of nature, and the consequences of human greed.
