Celebrate one of the most historic music events of the 1990s with this original promotional poster for the John Lennon Tribute Concert, held at Pier Head, Liverpool on Saturday 5th May 1990.

This one-off event brought together an unparalleled lineup of international artists performing the words and music of John Lennon, including:

  • Joe Cocker, Natalie Cole, The Moody Blues, Lou Reed, Al Green, B.B. King, Lenny Kravitz, Cyndi Lauper, Kylie Minogue, Terence Trent D’Arby, Wet Wet Wet, Hall & Oates, The Herbie Hancock Jazz Set and more.

Special filmed contributions came from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr (with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Joe Walsh & Jim Keltner), Ray Charles, and Dave Stewart (with Bobby Womack, Roger McGuinn & special guests).

Presented by Mike Read and hosted by Christopher Reeve & Ali MacGraw, the event became a landmark in live tribute performances, uniting legends across genres to honour Lennon’s legacy.
