'A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....'
What an incredibly unique and unusual piece that we are really excited to offer to the Poster Freaks collective! Not much is know about this print from 1977, but one thing we do know is that it is incredible artwork, perfect for the Star Wars Collectors out there!
It is theorised by many in the Star Wars community that Robin Wood was a comic artist that had created multiple pieces of work for 'Warped Space' a fanzine that covered mostly Star Trek but also covered Star Wars from issues 28-52, when the magazine ended, likely to legal trouble!
This black and white poster features the iconic typography, with the death star in the background, not to mention the roster of iconic characters. The characters include Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C3PO, R2-D2, Grand Moff Tarkin and even a stormtrooper helmet, some Jawas and an X-Wing and tie fighter battle! On the bottom left it says 'Star Wars No. 1', and on the bottom right there is a signature for Robin Wood.
The print measures at 23 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches and we have it listed as very fine, due to a 10mm tear along the top, along with some creasing throughout. We would highly recommend framing this piece due to how unique and uncommon it is, so why not get in touch to discuss our framing services!
